Shakespeare Conservatory (2 Weeks)

Monday thru Friday, June 2nd thru June 13th 10:00am-3:30pm
Cost:
$200
This rigorous program is for young actors who want to take their work to the next level. Each day will consist of classes in Classical Acting, Voice & Speech, Movement, and Stage Combat. On the final day, we will present selections from Shakespeare’s plays for family and friends. Interested students should send an email with their name, age, and why they want to join the class, then come to auditions with a short selection from one of Shakespeare’s plays. Selections should be less than 90 seconds, and do not need to be memorized. Auditions are on Saturdays May 17th or May 24th from 530-730pm at The Acting School, located at 47 Spring St NW in Concord.
Musical Theatre Camp (1 Week)

1 week: Monday thru Friday, July 28th thru August 1st 10:00am-3:30pm
Cost:
$100
In Musical Theatre Camp, we will put together an original revue created entirely by the students in the camp! On Day One, we will choose a theme and choose our songs (solos not required, but encouraged). Then we’ll set to work on the acting, singing, and movement skills needed for each song. At the end of the camp, we’ll perform our revue for family and friends.
Audition Skills Workshop (1 Day)

Saturday, August 9th 10:00am-3:00pm
Cost:
$50
Auditioning can be one of the most mysterious and frightening processes in theatre and film. Just in time for the next season and school year, this workshop aims to take the mystery out and help empower you to audition with confidence and ease. Students will get 3 minutes to present a song, monologue, or combination thereof, and will get individual attention working on that material. We will also take a look at Cold Readings and how to excel at them. A short dance combination will be also be taught. As an exercise, participants will also be given a show to cast from the students in the workshop to get firsthand experience at putting a cast together with the actors available. Finally, each student will be given feedback and revisions of their resume.
Character Mask Workshop (1 Day)

Sunday, August 10th 1:00pm-6:00pm
Cost:
$50
This workshop is based in the Character Mask of Jacques LeCoq. Each mask is a fully defined expressive character that asks us to find a physicality that brings it to life, a personality evolving from that physicality, and ultimately an entire history that expresses that character’s humanity. This work teaches us how to develop a character’s physicality using our entire body, helping us to transform more fully.
